Job Purpose

Responsible for recording, entering, monitoring, and maintaining accurate weights and records of all vehicles using the Solid Waste Complex. Collect, record, and submit daily receipts for fees collected in the scale house operation.

Essential Job Functions

1. Identify and source all refuse brought to the Solid Waste Complex.
2. Operate and maintain weighing equipment according to regulations by the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs, Division of Weights and Measures, and the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection.
3. Operate and understand the computer, software, printer, and equipment in the scale house to ensure accurate recordkeeping.
4. Accurately collect and record tipping fees, maintain daily monetary transaction sheets.
5. Maintain efficient vehicle flow in and out of the facility.
6. Provide helpful, courteous information to customers and co-workers.
7. Track and maintain records for all bulk waste deposits.
8. Work Monday through Friday, with Saturday hours in rotation.
9. Contact 911 in emergencies as directed.
10. Generate incident reports and deliver to the Facility Manager.
11. Manually operate the scale house and perform essential functions.
12. Perform other duties as assigned.

Environmental and Physical Demands

This role may involve driving, standing, walking, sitting, talking, hearing, seeing, feeling, grasping, climbing, balancing, crouching, crawling, kneeling, reaching, lifting up to 50 lbs, and exposure to environmental conditions.

Work Schedule

Monday - Friday, 7:15 am to 3:45 pm, with some Saturdays and holidays. Full benefits are provided.
