- Job Announcement
Operates public facilities primarily on nights and weekends, frequently in the absence of full-time management staff. Monitors the operation and public activity on nights and weekends for meetings, rentals and special events. Greets customers, answers phones and provides information regarding programs, activities, registrations and various other administrative tasks as required. Recommends improvements to the facility or it's programs and their operations. Enacts the emergency plan when necessary, oversees evacuation and acts as liaison to fire and police in the event of an emergency. Sets up and breaks down facility furniture to the specs required for different classes and meetings.
Schedule: This is a part-time position. Shifts require evening and weekend work averaging 23 hours a week. Occasional holiday work is required.
- Illustrative Duties
Supervises and participates in the operation of several public park facilities, a major recreational facility, or operates a theater technical specialty (e.g., sound, lighting, stage rigging and set construction);
Prepares daily reports on facility activities;
Inspects facilities and adjacent areas for unusual conditions and directs new, on-going and preventive maintenance activities;
Monitors the operation and public activity during regular hours of operation and for special events;
Recommends improvements in facilities or their operations;
Oversees setup, operation and maintenance of equipment;
Ensures compliance with applicable County, state and federal regulations;
Directs set-up and take-down of equipment for special events.
- Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of a variety of supplies, materials, tools, equipment and practices appropriate to job assignment;
Skill in use of tools, materials and equipment pertinent to job assignment;
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the general public;
May require ability to swim, lift, or climb appropriate to job assignment.
- Employment Standards
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

High school graduation or a GED issued by a state department of education; plus four years of work experience appropriate to job assignment.
CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES REQUIRED:
CPR (required within 3 months of hire)
First Aid (required within 3 months of hire)
AED (required within 3 months of hire)
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
The appointee to the position must satisfactorily complete a criminal background check and Child Protective Services Registry check.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:- High school graduate with one year experience working in the service delivery industry.
- Experience setting up and breaking down small- and large-scale events.
- Some facility maintenance experience.
- Reliable, personable and enthusiastic individual who enjoys working with people in a service environment.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word, Teams and Outlook.
- Basic IT troubleshooting proficiency.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Able to lift items weighing up to 75 pounds. Able to shovel snow. Ability to use a personal computer and keyboard driven equipment. All duties performed with or without reasonable accommodations.
SELECTION PROCEDURE:
Panel interview and may include a practical exercise.
