Job summary

Amwaste operates the Cedar Grove Landfill in Barnesville, GA and has an immediate opening for a Scale Attendant / Office Clerk to join our team. You will handle general recordkeeping, customer service, and administrative support at the Transfer Station Scale House, applying knowledge of our policies to deliver efficient service.

Role focuses on directing trucks to scale, recording weights, processing fees, cash handling, and providing prompt information about collections and accounts.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience in a public-facing role.
• Ability to record and track weights and fees accurately.
• Familiarity with basic data entry and administrative tasks.

Responsibilities

• Directs trucks to scale and records full and empty weights.
• Calculates fees due according to net load weight and collects fees or records charge.
• Compiles record of garbage weights by category (such as recycle).
• Balances the cash drawer and checks for incorrect ticket entry daily.
• Answers the telephone or greets the customer.
• Provides prompt and correct information about collections, rates, billing, and account status.
• Addresses customer questions and resolves complaints through a combination of telephone service, data entry and billing.
• Communicates with customers, peers, supervisors and managers about customer service standards.
• Maintains records, prepares requested reports and performs related clerical duties.
• Expedites communications and services between customers and co-workers to coordinate services, records, and account status.
• Participates in training related to customer service processes and safety.
• Assists Site Manager in completing any jobs required.
