Job summary

Stealth IT Consulting is seeking an experienced Scala Developer to join a high-performing engineering team delivering scalable, cloud-based applications. The candidate will work primarily remotely with occasional office visits, developing and maintaining robust microservices in an agile environment.

Key responsibilities include designing and delivering applications in Scala with Play Framework, building distributed systems using Akka, and creating RESTful APIs.

Qualifications

• Experience developing applications in Scala.

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Scala Developer to join a high-performing engineering team delivering scalable, cloud-based applications. The successful candidate will have strong experience with Scala, Play Framework, and Akka, and will be responsible for developing and maintaining robust microservices and distributed systems in an agile environment.

This is a primarily remote role with occasional travel to the office for key workshops, planning sessions, and team collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain applications using Scala and the Play Framework
• Build and support high-performance, distributed systems using Akka
• Develop RESTful APIs and microservices architectures
• Collaborate with architects, developers, business analysts, and QA teams
• Participate in code reviews and champion engineering best practices
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks
• Produce high-quality technical documentation where required
• Work within agile delivery teams, participating in sprint ceremonies and planning activities

Essential Skills & Experience

• Strong commercial experience developing applications in Scala
• Proven experience with Play Framework
