Job summary

Brown & Root Industrial Services is seeking a Scaffold Journeyman to build, position and dismantle wooden scaffolds per blueprints and company standards in Louisiana. You will interpret sketches, select materials, and ensure safety rules are followed on each job site.

The role requires working at heights, precise measurement, and tool handling skills, with a focus on quality and efficiency in daily operations on industrial projects.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with field experience preferred.
• Familiar with standard practices and procedures in construction scaffolding.
• Reports to supervisor or manager and follows instructions.

Responsibilities

• Examines, selects and gathers materials and tools.
• Interprets blueprints and specs to determine dimensions.
• Inspects base surface for obstructions.
• Loads, transports and unloads materials.
• Measures boards and marks cutting lines on materials.
• Saws boards and plywood to required sizes.
• Uses carpentry hand tools and power tools safely.
• Assembles scaffold components per specs and safety rules.
• Braces forms and anchors scaffold for structural integrity.
• Erects scaffolding, ladders, walkways, and platforms.
• Sets anchors and rigging as needed.
• Performs routine maintenance and cleaning of tools and equipment.
• Complies with all safety and project rules.
