Brown & Root Industrial Services in Louisiana seeks a helper to build, position, and dismantle wooden structures such as forms, scaffolds, tunnel and sewer supports, and temporary frame shelters according to sketches, blueprints, or company standards.

The role requires reading and interpreting instructions, working under supervision, and maintaining safety on site while handling materials and common carpentry tools. Flexibility with site tasks and adherence to safety protocols are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Follows instructions and pre-established guidelines.
• Under supervision with limited independent judgment.

Responsibilities

• Examines, selects and gathers materials and tools.
• Examines blue prints and specifications to determine dimensions.
• Loads, transports and unloads material.
• Measures boards, timbers, or plywood and marks cutting lines.
• SAWS boards and plywood panels to required sizes.
• Uses carpentry hand tools (hammers, levels, squares, screwdrivers, wrenches).
• Assembles scaffolding with rails, braces and planks per specs.
• Braces forms in place with timbers and anchors.
• Erects scaffolding and installs ladders and walkways.
• Sets anchor bolts and may rig materials.
• Performs maintenance or cleaning on tools and equipment.
• Observes safety rules; performs other duties as required.
