Job summary

Brown & Root Industrial Services is seeking skilled carpenters to build, position, and dismantle wooden structures and scaffolding according to blueprints and standards.

The role involves measuring, cutting, and assembling components, working at heights, and ensuring strict safety adherence on job sites. Requires basic math, tool proficiency, and ability to follow instructions with supervision.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with prior field experience.
• Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures.
• Follows instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform job functions.
• Typically reports to a supervisor or manager.

Responsibilities

• Examines, selects and gathers materials and tools.
• Reads blueprints or specs to determine dimensions.
• Inspects base surface for obstructions.
• Loads, transports and unloads material.
• Measures boards and marks cut lines.
• Saws boards to size.
• Uses carpentry hand tools (hammers, levels, squares, screwdrivers).
• Assembles scaffold per specs and safety rules.
• Erects scaffolding and installs ladders, handrails and platforms.
• Performs maintenance or cleaning on tools and equipment.
• Observes safety and project rules.
