Job summary

Brown & Root Industrial Services is seeking a skilled carpenter/scaffold worker to construct and dismantle wooden structures, install and modify scaffolding, and ensure safety compliance on site in Missouri.

The role requires reading blueprints, measuring materials, and using hand and power tools. You will work at heights, follow precise instructions, and collaborate with a supervisory team to maintain productivity and safety on all assignments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures; ability to follow instructions.
• Baseline math skills for measurements and layout.
• Ability to work at heights and in construction environments.

Responsibilities

• Builds, positions, and dismantles wooden structures per sketches, blueprints, or standards.
• Examines, selects and gathers materials and tools.
• Reviews blueprints and specifications to determine dimensions.
• Inspects base surfaces for obstructions and safety hazards.
• Loads, transports, and unloads materials.
• Measures boards and timbers and marks cut lines.
• Saws boards to required sizes.
• Uses carpentry hand and power tools.
• Assembles scaffolds with handrails, braces, planks, and wheels as specified.
• Braces forms with timbers, tie rods, and anchor bolts for piers and walls.
• Secures scaffolding to permanent structures.
• Erects scaffolding and installs ladders, walkways, platforms, and gangways.
• Rigs materials as needed.
• Performs maintenance or cleaning on tools and equipment.
• Observes safety rules and project guidelines; performs other duties as required.
