Job summary

Austin Industries, Inc. in Texas is seeking a Scaffold Builder to construct, assemble, maintain, and dismantle tubular scaffolding and temporary structures. This role requires a minimum of two years’ experience in the scaffolding craft and a strong commitment to safety.

You will inspect sites, select scaffold type, hoist materials, secure components, and ensure compliance with OSHA and site requirements. The position is full-time, on-site, with potential for growth and equal opportunity

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of scaffolding experience.
• NCCER certification preferred but not required.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Determines type of scaffold needed.
• Inspects job site and scaffold material for defects and safety hazards.
• Communicates safety hazards and mitigates risks prior to construction.
• Transports scaffold materials and erects the scaffold as required.
• Hoists scaffold materials to erect temporary structures.
• Secures and levels locking sections of scaffold material.
• Secures scaffold to the permanent structure for stability.
• Adheres to OSHA, site, and Austin Industrial requirements.
• Performs final inspection of completed scaffolding.
• Dismantles scaffolding when instructed.
• Inspects and stores scaffolding material after dismantling.
• Work at heights with no fear.
• Other duties as assigned.

Scaffold Builder

This person will construct, assemble, maintain,and dismantles tubular scaffolding or other temporary structures. This is accomplished by performing the following essential duties and responsibilities. A minimum of 2 years of experience is required in the Scaffolding craft. Other duties may be assigned.

Specific Duties And Responsibilities

• Determines type of scaffold needed.
• Inspects job site and all scaffold material for defects and safety hazards.
• Effectively communicates safety hazards and mitigates avoidable hazards prior to construction of scaffolding.
• Transports tubular scaffold or other structural material and erects the scaffold to the dimensions required.
• Hoists scaffolding materials upward in order to erect temporary structure.
• Properly secures and levels locking sections of scaffolding material.
• Properly secures scaffold to the permanent structure for added stability.
• Adheres to all OSHA, site specific and Austin Industrial requirements for the erecting and navigation of the scaffolding.
• Performs final inspection of completed scaffolding.
• Dismantles scaffolding when it has been properly communicated to do so.
• Inspects and properly stows scaffolding material after dismantling.
• Work at heights with no fear.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education – no minimum education requirements.

Experience – 2 Years Of Experience In Scaffolding Is Preferred.

Certification/License - A Valid Driver’s License - NCCER is preferred but not required.
