Job summary

Austin Industrial seeks a Scaffold Builder to construct, assemble, maintain, and dismantle tubular scaffolding at industrial sites nationwide. A minimum of 3 years of scaffolding experience is required, with adherence to OSHA, site-specific, and Austin Industrial safety standards.

Responsibilities include determining scaffold type, inspecting materials, transporting and erecting scaffolding, hoisting and securing components, and performing final inspections.

Qualifications

  • Education: no minimum education requirements.
  • Experience: 3 years’ minimum experience in scaffolding.
  • Applicants must be legally able to work in the United States (Austin cannot sponsor visa).

Responsibilities

  • Inspect job site and scaffold materials for defects and hazards.
  • Communicate safety hazards and mitigate risks prior to construction.
  • Transport tubular scaffold and erect scaffold to required dimensions.
  • Hoist materials and assemble scaffolding.
  • Secure and level locking sections and anchor scaffold to structures.
  • Perform final inspection and dismantle scaffold when directed.

Scaffold Builder

This person will construct, assemble, maintain,and dismantle tubular scaffolding or other temporary structures. This is accomplished by performing the following essential duties and responsibilities. A minimum of 3 years of experience is required within the Scaffolding craft. Other duties may be assigned.

Specific Duties And Responsibilities:
  • Determines type of scaffold needed.
  • Inspects job site and all scaffold material for defects and safety hazards.
  • Effectively communicates safety hazards and mitigates avoidable hazards prior to construction of scaffolding.
  • Transports tubular scaffold or other structural material and erects the scaffold to the dimensions required.
  • Hoists scaffolding materials upward in order to erect temporary structure.
  • Properly secures and levels locking sections of scaffolding material.
  • Properly secures scaffold to the permanent structure for added stability.
  • Adheres to all OSHA, site specific and Austin Industrial requirements for the erecting and navigation of the scaffolding.
  • Performs final inspection of completed scaffolding.
  • Dismantles scaffolding when it has been properly communicated to do so.
  • Inspects and properly stows scaffolding material after dismantling.

Employees must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and meet all customer, site, regulatory, medical, and fitness-for-duty requirements applicable to the position. Must be able to perform all job duties while maintaining a constant commitment to safety, quality, and productivity expectations.
