Job summary

Austin Industrial is seeking a Scaffold Builder in Decatur, IL to construct, assemble, maintain, and dismantle tubular scaffolding and other temporary structures. A minimum of 3 years of experience in scaffolding is required, with strong emphasis on safety and proper inspection of materials.

You will determine scaffold types, inspect sites for hazards, transport and erect scaffolding, and ensure stability by proper securing to structures, while adhering to OSHA and site guidelines.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of scaffolding craft experience.
• High School or better.
• NCCER-Scaff Bldr Certification preferred or required.

Responsibilities

• Work at heights with no fear.
• Determine type of scaffold needed.
• Inspect job site and scaffold material for defects and safety hazards.
• Communicate safety hazards and mitigate hazards prior to construction.
• Transport tubular scaffold or other materials and erect scaffold as required.
• Hoist scaffolding materials to erect temporary structure.
• Secure and level locking sections of scaffolding.
• Secure scaffold to the permanent structure for stability.
• Follow OSHA and site requirements for erecting and navigating scaffolding.
• Perform final inspection of completed scaffolding.
• Dismantle scaffolding when instructed and stow materials after dismantling.
