Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a SCADA Technician in California to troubleshoot instrumentation, PLCs, HMIs, and the related control-system equipment to help ensure safe, reliable operation and data integrity across critical processes.

The role involves installation, calibration, testing, and maintenance of systems; reviewing P&IDs and drawings; supporting start-ups and projects; and collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement improvements while maintaining complete documentation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience with PLC programming, including Allen-Bradley ControlLogix, CompactLogix, or FlexLogix.
• Experience installing, inspecting, calibrating, testing, maintaining, or troubleshooting industrial instrumentation or control-system equipment.
• Experience documenting technical work, which may include maintenance records, calibration records, MOCs, SOPs, loop checks, redlined drawings, or as-built documentation.

Responsibilities

• Installs, inspects, calibrates, tests, maintains, and repairs control systems and equipment.
• Performs loop checks and functional testing to verify operation and communication between field devices, control systems, and operator interfaces.
• Monitors, evaluates, and troubleshoots process control systems, PLCs, HMIs, instrumentation, and related production and safety equipment.
• Reviews technical documentation, including P&IDs, schematics, loop drawings, data sheets, calibration records, procedures, and drawings.
• Supports system start-ups and commissioning activities by verifying system readiness and coordinating with involved personnel.
• Maintains calibration records and other required documentation.
• Coordinates with teams to plan control-system projects and resources.
