Job summary

Charleston Water System is seeking a SCADA System Technician III to support SCADA and security systems, including HMI, PLC, databases, and workstations. You will ensure system functionality, perform upgrades, and contribute to long-range improvements.

The role requires strong communication, problem solving, and the ability to operate in varied environments, both indoors and outdoors. A valid SC driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics or related discipline; 1 year SCADA experience or an alternative: associate degree + 5 years, or 8 years in field.
• Experience with Windows Server/Windows Client operating systems.
• Fluency in installing, programming, troubleshooting and maintaining PLCs and HMIs.
• Knowledge of TCP/IP and security system integration.
• Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with teams.

Responsibilities

• Program and maintain the SCADA/HMI system using Rockwell interfaces.
• Create/modify security software for access control and video monitoring.
• Recommend system upgrades to optimize SCADA and security.
• Help develop and enforce SCADA System Standards Manual.
• Assist with long-range planning for system improvements.
• Provide customer service to end users of SCADA and security systems.
