Job summary

HCL International is seeking an Installation and Commissioning Engineer to oversee the full lifecycle delivery of technical solutions in the utilities sector. The role requires strong SCADA/automation experience and the ability to work independently or as part of a team on site at client locations.

Key qualifications include BTEC/NVQ3 or HNC/HND with 18th Edition BS7671, MEICA/ICA familiarity, and a full clean UK driving licence.

Qualifications

• Proven experience delivering solutions in the utility sector, ideally within the Water Industry.
• Electrical qualifications: BTEC, NVQ3, or HNC/HND, with 18th Edition (BS7671) certification.
• Strong background in engineering control systems/automation (MEICA/ICA experience preferred).
• Experience in installation and commissioning of SCADA, PLCs, RTUs, and HMIs.
• Familiarity with configuration and testing of manufacturers' equipment; capable of collaborating with remote SMEs.
• Understanding of electrical wiring, control panel wiring, and electrical installations.
• Eligibility to work in the UK.
• Full, clean UK driving licence.
• Commitment to ongoing technical and professional development.

Responsibilities

• Survey, install, commission, and support site-based control systems and equipment for key clients.
• Lead commissioning of assigned work packages or projects, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery.
• Support project documentation and reporting within agreed timeframes.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including client operations teams, to ensure seamless system integration.
• Work within pre-defined design, equipment configurations, and templates.
• Adhere to safety regulations while carrying out installation and commissioning tasks on client sites.
• Ensure compliance with quality standards and industry best practices.
• Maintain professional communication with clients, providing regular progress updates to the Project Manager.
