Job summary
Knobelsdorff (KE) is seeking an experienced SCADA/HMI engineer to design, develop, and commission control systems for large industrial automation projects. You will create intuitive operator interfaces, integrate diverse automation components, and deliver visualization solutions that boost efficiency and reliability.
The role demands hands-on scripting and configuration across platforms like Ignition, WinCC, and AVEVA, with travel up to 100% for commissioning and startup activities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field
- 3+ years in industrial automation, SCADA, or HMI engineering
- Experience developing industrial SCADA and HMI applications
- Experience with a range of SCADA/HMI platforms listed in tools
Responsibilities
- Design and develop SCADA and HMI applications for industrial automation projects
- Create intuitive operator interfaces focused on usability and reliability
- Configure alarming, trending, and reporting within SCADA platforms
- Develop reusable graphics, templates, and visualization standards
- Integrate PLCs, instrumentation, databases, historians, and third-party systems
- Configure OPC UA, Modbus TCP/IP, and EtherNet/IP communications
- Participate in system architecture, software design, and reviews
- Perform FAT/SAT and commissioning activities
- Troubleshoot software and communication issues during startup and operation
- Collaborate with customers and engineering teams to optimize system functionality
- Follow KE development standards and quality procedures
- Support continuous improvement of software standards and tools
