Job Overview

Marketech International Corporation USA is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Chemical Process SCADA Engineer for a TSMC project to support the design, programming, integration, commissioning, and ongoing operation of SCADA, HMI, PLC, and industrial control systems within large-scale semiconductor facilities.

This role is responsible for developing and maintaining SCADA applications, operator graphics, alarm configurations, control logic, tag databases, historian functions, communication interfaces, and technical documentation for chemical delivery and related process systems. The position works closely with chemical process engineers, electrical and instrumentation teams, construction personnel, vendors, commissioning teams, operations, and client representatives.

The ideal candidate has experience in industrial automation, SCADA/HMI systems, PLC controls, chemical process systems, commissioning, or semiconductor facility operations. This role requires strong troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, technical documentation abilities, communication, and the ability to manage multiple system issues and project priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, configure, update, and maintain SCADA and HMI applications supporting chemical delivery and related process systems.
  • Create and modify operator graphics, equipment screens, tag databases, alarms, trends, reports, and historian configurations.
  • Develop, review, and troubleshoot PLC logic, control sequences, equipment interlocks, permissives, and operating setpoints.
  • Translate P&IDs, control narratives, sequences of operation, equipment data, and project requirements into functional control solutions.
  • Integrate field instruments, analyzers, pumps, valves, control panels, chemical skids, and third-party equipment into SCADA and PLC systems.
  • Support industrial communication protocols such as OPC UA, Modbus TCP, EtherNet/IP, Profinet, or similar systems.
  • Maintain software backups, revision histories, change records, system configurations, and approved programming documentation.
Chemical Process & Instrumentation Integration
  • Support automation and monitoring for bulk and specialty chemical delivery, distribution, transfer, blending, storage, and related facility systems.
  • Review P&IDs, instrument lists, I/O lists, equipment specifications, control diagrams, and network drawings for accuracy and completeness.
  • Coordinate instrument signals, operating ranges, alarm setpoints, equipment status points, and control-system requirements.
  • Verify that alarms, interlocks, operating limits, and approved shutdown sequences align with process requirements and client standards.
  • Coordinate with chemical process, electrical, instrumentation, mechanical, and facility engineers to resolve system integration issues.
  • Work with equipment vendors and subcontractors to confirm communication requirements, interface points, and system functionality.
  • Maintain organized technical records throughout the design, installation, commissioning, and turnover phases.
Testing, Commissioning & Startup
  • Prepare and execute factory acceptance testing, site acceptance testing, point-to-point checks, I/O checkout, loop checks, and functional testing.
  • Support control-panel verification, equipment startup, system cutover, sequence testing, and integrated system commissioning.
  • Validate SCADA displays, PLC logic, instrument signals, alarms, interlocks, trends, and historian data before system turnover.
  • Troubleshoot software, controls, instrumentation, network, and equipment communication issues during startup and operation.
  • Document test results, system deficiencies, corrective actions, punch-list items, and final acceptance status.
  • Coordinate with construction, commissioning, operations, vendors, and client teams to safely resolve startup issues.
  • Support system turnover and provide technical training to operators, technicians, and maintenance personnel.
System Support & Project Coordination
  • Monitor SCADA and control-system performance, reliability, alarms, communication status, and system health.
  • Investigate recurring faults, nuisance alarms, equipment communication failures, and control-system interruptions.
  • Participate in root-cause analysis and help develop corrective and preventive actions.
  • Support system backups, access management, version control, change tracking, and industrial cybersecurity practices.
  • Participate in project meetings and provide updates regarding controls development, testing, commissioning, outstanding issues, and system readiness.
  • Coordinate with internal teams, clients, vendors, subcontractors, and equipment suppliers to align technical requirements and project schedules.
  • Prepare and maintain control narratives, I/O lists, alarm matrices, testing records, operating procedures, training materials, and as-built documentation.
  • Identify opportunities to improve system reliability, operator usability, documentation quality, and troubleshooting efficiency.
Required Qualifications
  • 2+ years of experience in SCADA engineering, PLC programming, HMI development, industrial automation, controls engineering, instrumentation, or a related field.
  • Experience developing, configuring, commissioning, or supporting industrial SCADA, HMI, PLC, or distributed control systems.
  • Hands-on experience with at least one major automation platform, such as AVEVA/Wonderware, Ignition, Rockwell FactoryTalk, Siemens WinCC, GE Digital, or a similar system.
  • Experience with PLC platforms such as Allen-Bradley/Rockwell, Siemens, Schneider Electric, or similar.
  • Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, control narratives, I/O lists, electrical schematics, network diagrams, and instrument documentation.
  • Familiarity with industrial communication protocols such as OPC, Modbus, EtherNet/IP, Profinet, or similar.
  • Experience supporting FAT, SAT, commissioning, startup, loop checks, I/O verification, or system troubleshooting.
