Job summary

Knobelsdorff is seeking a student to join our team in Eagan, MN. You will assist in designing SCADA and HMI applications for industrial automation projects, develop graphics and templates, and participate in system architecture reviews.

You will also help with FAT/SAT, startup testing, and ongoing support for software standards and tools. The role requires pursuing a degree in Electrical, Computer, or Automation Engineering and a willingness to travel for commissioning, startup, and customer

Job Description

You’ll be part of a team that gets things done, works with purpose, and takes pride in the results. Your day‑to‑day responsibilities may include:

  • Assist in designing SCADA and HMI applications for industrial automation projects.
  • Develop reusable graphics, templates, faceplates, and visualization standards.
  • Participate in system architecture, software design, and functional reviews.
  • Perform Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), and commissioning activities.
  • Troubleshoot software, communication, and control system issues during startup and operation.
  • Follow KE development standards, documentation practices, and quality procedures.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to software standards, engineering tools, and project execution.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications

  • Ability to work in our Eagan, MN location 5 days/week.
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related field.
  • Understanding of industrial networking and communication protocols.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability and willingness to travel for commissioning, startup, and customer support activities.
Additional Information
Pay Range

We believe in paying for the value you bring to the team, and we aim to be competitive in every market we hire in.

Pay Range: $20 - $25/hour
