Job summary

SOLV Energy is seeking an experienced SCADA Engineer to support the design, development, and delivery of the SOLV SCADA solution for utility-scale solar, storage, and high-voltage projects.

The role offers a hybrid in-office presence in San Diego, CA or Bend, OR or fully remote. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project success, deployments, and compliance with safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of SCADA engineering experience in renewable energy (industrial or utility-scale PV, BESS, or wind)
• Proficiency with programming languages including Python
• Intermediate knowledge of Ignition SCADA by Inductive Automation
• Familiarity with PLC environments (e.g., Schweitzer RTAC, Allen-Bradley, GE/Emerson) and SCADA hardware
• Experience with Modbus RTU/TCP, DNP3, OPC UA/DA and reading diagrams/schematics

Responsibilities

• Design and develop SCADA integration components and systems for utility-scale projects
• Define and implement product design standards and best practices with cross-functional teams
• Review project requirements and ensure compliance with contract deliverables
• Generate device points lists, HMI assets, and commissioning test plans
• Program and commission SCADA servers, data historians, and HMI systems
• Coordinate with customers and field personnel for on-site commissioning and installation support
• Collaborate with teams to support platform development and data integration
• Provide project status updates and support risk mitigation to meet goals and budget
