Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Controls Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
  • 0–3 years of experience in SCADA, automation, controls, instrumentation, manufacturing systems, or process engineering.
  • Recent graduates with internship, co-op, academic project, or hands-on automation experience encouraged to apply.
  • Basic understanding of SCADA, PLC, HMI, and industrial control systems.

  • Support configuration, maintenance, monitoring, and troubleshooting of SCADA systems.
  • Assist with SCADA and HMI development, configuration, graphics, alarms, and system modifications.
  • Support integration between SCADA systems, PLCs, HMIs, equipment, and process historians.
  • Assist with troubleshooting communication issues between PLCs, SCADA applications, and connected equipment.
  • Assist with system testing, commissioning, startup, and operational support.
  • Participate in FAT, SAT, commissioning, and qualification activities.

Job description

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented SCADA Engineer with 0–3 years of experience to join our engineering team in Florida. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career engineer interested in developing hands-on experience with SCADA, PLC, HMI, industrial automation, and process control systems.

The SCADA Engineer will support the implementation, monitoring, troubleshooting, testing, and maintenance of automation and control systems within a regulated manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will collaborate with Automation, Controls, Manufacturing, Engineering, Validation, Quality, and IT/OT teams to ensure reliable system performance and compliance with applicable GMP/GxP, data integrity, and company requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Support the configuration, maintenance, monitoring, and troubleshooting of SCADA systems.

Assist with SCADA and HMI development, configuration, graphics, alarms, and system modifications.

Support integration between SCADA systems, PLCs, HMIs, equipment, and process historians.

Assist with troubleshooting communication issues between PLCs, SCADA applications, and connected manufacturing equipment.

Support PLC and HMI troubleshooting under the guidance of senior automation and controls engineers.

Assist with system testing, commissioning, startup, and operational support.

Participate in FAT, SAT, commissioning, and qualification activities.

Assist in developing and executing functional, operational, and automation test scripts.

Support alarm monitoring, trending, data collection, and system performance analysis.

Assist with troubleshooting process control and automation-related issues.

Support software and configuration changes through approved change-control procedures.

Maintain accurate SCADA, automation, and engineering documentation.

Assist with preparation and review of functional specifications, configuration documents, test scripts, and technical reports.

Support computerized system validation activities when required.

Assist with deviations, CAPA, change controls, and other quality-system activities related to automation systems.

Support system backup, configuration management, and documentation activities.

Ensure automation activities are performed in accordance with applicable GMP/GxP and data integrity requirements.

Collaborate with Manufacturing, Engineering, Validation, QA, IT/OT, and Maintenance teams.

Support internal audits and regulatory inspection readiness.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Controls Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.

0–3 years of experience in SCADA, automation, controls, instrumentation, manufacturing systems, or process engineering.

Recent graduates with relevant internship, co-op, academic project, or hands-on automation experience are encouraged to apply.

Basic understanding of SCADA, PLC, HMI, and industrial control systems.

Preferred Skills

Exposure to Rockwell Automation / Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Ignition, FactoryTalk, Wonderware, or similar SCADA platforms.

Basic PLC programming or troubleshooting experience.

Exposure to HMI development and configuration.

Familiarity with EtherNet/IP, Modbus, OPC, Profinet, or similar industrial communication protocols.
