Job summary

Gilbane is seeking a SCA Project Officer to serve as the School Construction Authority's on-site representative for one or more NYC construction projects. You will oversee design and construction activities across multiple stages and sites in the five NYC boroughs.

The role requires a Bachelor’s Degree and 5–10 years of full-time experience in construction design fields, with a New York State driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree from accredited college or university is required.
• Minimum 5-10 years of full-time experience in construction design fields, managing educational or municipal projects.
• 2-4 years must have been involved managing all phases of construction work on a scale similar to the SCA.
• Valid driver’s license in New York State.

Responsibilities

• Provides administration and coordination of activities for design and construction of complex projects under guidance of a senior SCA Project Officer.
• Ensures quality and high standards of performance and compliance by consultants and vendors.
• Makes timely decisions to expedite construction processes and corrects design/ construction errors early.
• Manages phasing, scheduling, and compliance with approved budgets.
• Interacts with contractors, school personnel, and senior management on project issues.
