Job summary

Meijer seeks a hands-on maintenance professional to support planning, scheduling and maintenance of critical utilities. You will ensure reliability of water treatment systems, boilers, and air compressors while maintaining regulatory records and safety standards.

Responsibilities include routine and emergency maintenance across multi-craft environments, including PLCs, instrumentation, mechanical and electrical work. A high school diploma and relevant technical experience are required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Related technical field experience or cert preferred.
• Understanding of electrical schematics and ability to troubleshoot/repair electrical circuits and controls.

Responsibilities

• Supports planning, scheduling, and maintenance activities.
• Maintains water treatment and distribution systems, boilers, and compressed air.
• Keeps regulatory and compliance records for all systems.
• Performs routine and emergency maintenance of utility systems in multi-craft environments (PLC, instrumentation, mechanical, electrical).
• Responsible for preventive maintenance and on-time work order completion.
• Performs other duties as required by Maintenance Manager.
• Practices 200% safety accountability in self and others.

What You'll be Doing:

• Supports planning, scheduling, and maintenance activities.
• Proactively maintains all water treatment and distribution systems, on-demand boiler functions, and equipment, including process water system, boilers, and compressed air.
• Regulatory and compliance record keeping for all systems.
• Perform routine and emergency maintenance (major and minor) of utility systems in multi-craft environments, including PLCs, instrumentation, mechanical, electrical (480VAC, 220/240VAC, 120/208VAC, 24VDC), and general equipment repair.
• Responsible for Preventive Maintenance (PM) and on-time work order completion.
• Perform other duties as required by the Maintenance Manager.
• Practices 200% safety accountability in self and others.

What You Bring with You (Qualifications):

• High School diploma/GED required.
• Related technical field experience and or certification preferred.
• Understanding of electrical schematics and ability to troubleshoot/repair electrical circuits and controls is required.
• 3-5 years of hands‑on maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Previous maintenance experience in a food manufacturing setting is preferred.
• The ability to work in a cold environment is required.
• Knowledge of manufacturing, production, packaging and labeling equipment.
• Ability to demonstrate a high level of troubleshooting, comprehension, and operational experience.
• Knowledge and experience with Safe Quality Foods (SQF), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Lock Out/Tag Out (LOTO), 5S, and Lean Manufacturing processes.
• Knowledge and skill of MIG, TIG, fabrication, joining, and repair of varieties of metals, including stainless steel for food‑grade applications, various production equipment, and structures.
