Job summary

Medical University of South Carolina seeks an SBO Collections and Vendor Analyst to support Revenue Cycle leadership. You will ensure accurate flow and placement of accounts through the SBO cycle and oversee vendor reconciliation, compiling analyses and presenting corrective recommendations.

Focus includes identifying accounts for Tax Set Off, coordinating with SC DOR, SCAC and internal teams to ensure timely eligibility and transactions, while maintaining HIPAA and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma with four (4) years medically related customer service/collections experience, or bachelor’s degree and two years medically related customer service/collections experience.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and health insurance preferred.
• Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint; Epic knowledge required.
• Punctual, dependable with excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
• Good organizational skills and initiative; ability to relate with necessary contacts.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Adheres to MUSC Workforce standards of professional behavior and code of conduct.

Responsibilities

• Manage self-pay inventory to ensure proper placement and aging via Epic tools.
• Analyze bad debt inventory to identify potential tax setoff opportunities and statutes.
• Review and generate ad hoc reports to monitor vendor placement inventory and reconciliation.
• Provide timely updates to SC Department of Revenue and SCAC.
• Review weekly SC DOR payment remittal and coordinate with teams for posting tax setoff transactions.
• Document actions and conversations while maintaining HIPAA compliance.
