Job summary

The Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) Community Physicians is seeking an SBO Collections and Vendor Analyst to support the Revenue Cycle. You will analyze accounts, manage tax set-off processes, and coordinate with SC DOR, SCAC, and internal teams to ensure accurate vendor reconciliation and timely postings.

You will work with Epic, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint to compile findings, generate reports, and present recommendations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and two years medically related customer service/collections experience, or high school diploma with four years related experience.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and health insurance preferred.
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; Epic knowledge is required.
• Strong communication and organizational skills; ability to work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Manage self-pay inventory to ensure proper placement and aging via Epic tools.
• Analyze bad debt inventory for potential tax setoff opportunities.
• Review and generate ad hoc reports to monitor vendor placement and reconciliation.
• Provide timely updates to SC Department of Revenue and SCAC.
• Review SC DOR weekly payment remittal file and coordinate with internal teams for timely posting of tax setoff transactions.
• Document all actions and conversations; ensure HIPAA compliance and regulatory adherence.
• Collaborate with the Collections Leader and internal teams to prepare for annual tax set off placement to the SC DOR.
• Maintain records of tax setoff activities.
• Manage high volume of patient accounts in an Epic queue and dashboard environment.
• Review tax setoff guidelines to ensure MUSC compliance.
