Job Description
Under the direction and supervision of the SBM Program Lead, the SBM Materials & Logistics Coordinator is responsible for ordering, supplying, receipt, storage, and handling of all raw ingredients and packaging supplies purchased for the plant, as well as receipt and shipment of all finished goods produced at the facility to the distribution center. This role will utilize inventory management systems and support new operational initiatives as the site grows. The candidate acts as a liaison between R&D developers, the Quality Manager, and the R&D pilot plant and SBM teams.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Plan, organize, and manage materials and logistics functions effectively.
- Manage inventory, ensuring timely updates, compliance with KHMS policies, timely reporting, and FIFO rotation.
- Manage shipping and receiving communications and processes.
- Ensure accurate and timely data entry into the computer system (WASP).
- Maintain accurate shipping, receiving, and production records.
- Assist with hold, release, and recall procedures to ensure customer safety in collaboration with Quality.
- Ensure storage requirements for ingredients and finished goods are met.
- Promote team safety, provide training, motivate, and enhance team effectiveness.
- Develop, implement, and monitor SBM goals.
- Support project and department budget development and management.
- Ensure all safety, quality, system, and lift truck certifications and training are up to date.
- Maintain proper housekeeping and sanitation standards.
- Coordinate and expedite the flow of materials for production.
- Participate actively in team meetings and other projects, contributing to long-term facility planning.
- Make effective decisions impacting department, budgets, personnel, and company operations, including compliance with external agencies like USDA.
- Administer company policies and procedures.
- Lead and guide financial controls and budgeting efforts.
- Interpret and enforce company policies, safety regulations, and compliance standards.
- Handle human resource responsibilities such as hiring, performance evaluations, employee relations, and training.
- Provide a safe work environment following Kraft Heinz Safety Processes, including hazard recognition and accident investigation.
- Collaborate closely with R&D teams, including pilot plant managers and technicians.
- Demonstrate troubleshooting, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Cultivate leadership in safety and GMP adherence.
- Meet or exceed performance standards related to volume, quality, safety, and organization.
- Wear PPE and operate equipment safely, reporting unsafe conditions.
- Participate in quality audits and develop corrective actions.
- Operate equipment such as lift assists, production tools, and computer systems safely.
- Physical demands include standing, keyboard use, and lifting up to 50 pounds with assistance for heavier loads.
- Work schedule is primarily Monday-Friday, with additional hours as needed.
- Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree (preferred), 2-5 years in supply chain/logistics, proficiency with inventory systems, and strong communication skills.
