Job summary

WaFd Bank is seeking a Senior SBA Loan Coordinator to manage the SBA 7(a) and 504 loan process from application through closing and funding. You will serve as a liaison between borrowers, underwriting teams, closing staff, and SBA departments to ensure accurate, compliant processing.

The role requires leadership, mentoring, and staying current with SBA SOPs and regulatory guidance while upholding bank policies. Previous SBA lending/coordinating experience is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting, or related field preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of SBA lending or loan coordination experience.
• Strong knowledge of SBA SOP and SBA E-Tran systems.
• Experience with loan origination systems (e.g., LaserPro, nCino, or similar) is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as SME on SBA loan documentation, eligibility, packaging, and compliance requirements.
• Coordinate end-to-end SBA 7(a) and 504 loan processes from intake to closing.
• Review borrower documents to ensure SBA guideline compliance prior to underwriting.
• Collaborate with loan officers and underwriters to gather required documents and respond to inquiries.
• Prepare SBA loan packages, including E-Tran submission, and track approvals.
• Oversee post-approval conditions before closing and funding.
• Coordinate loan closings with borrowers, attorneys, title companies, and SBA reps.
• Maintain complete, compliant loan files per bank and SBA policies.
• Provide training and guidance to other SBA Specialists.
