Job summary

Fifth Third Bank seeks an SBA Lending Consultant to empower small business owners by driving SBA loan portfolio growth. You will evaluate customer needs, collaborate with internal partners, and support loan structuring and underwriting processes.

Ideal candidates bring 3+ years SBA lending experience, SOP knowledge, and strong credit and analytical skills. This role is virtual in Ohio with cross‑functional collaboration and ongoing SBA policy updates.

Our team is growing: Provide’s Sales team is looking for a bold, compassionate, and focused SBA Lending Consultant to empower small business owners to build their legacies by driving the growth and success of the Bank’s Small Business Administration (SBA) loan portfolio.

A day in the life:

• Evaluate customer needs and ensure all SBA lending activities meet SBA Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
• Collaborate with internal partners to identify SBA-eligible lending opportunities
• Assist in prospect conversations, loan structure support, and eligibility summaries for SBA underwriting approval
• Help train front-line staff and internal partners on SBA programs, guidelines, and eligibility
• Conduct ongoing sessions to update teams on SBA policy changes or program enhancements
• Coordinate with attorneys, along with internal operations and closing partners, to ensure smooth and timely loan closings
• Maintain accurate pipeline reporting and help prepare necessary documentation for SBA submission and loan approval

Our newest teammate will have:

• Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or related field, or equivalent experience
• Minimum three (3) years of experience in SBA lending, including hands‑on experience with SBA loan origination and servicing, and familiarity with SBA loan packaging and submission platforms (e.g., SBA One)
• In‑depth knowledge of SBA loan programs and SOPs
• Demonstrated ability to structure and present compelling and compliant SBA loan deals
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence and educate others
• Experience partnering directly with bankers, business development officers, or sales teams
• Experience navigating the SBA eligibility and underwriting process
• Strong analytical and credit skills
• Ability to work cross‑functionally with internal and external stakeholders
• Comfort in customer‑facing environments
• Demonstrated strong attention to detail
• Self‑motivated working style and strong problem‑solving skills

• Experience facilitating SBA loan transactions for customers sourced by branches, business bankers, relationship managers, or other bank channels

• Total Base Pay Range 54,400.00 - 111,500.00 USD Annual

In addition to the base salary, this role is eligible to participate in an incentive compensation plan, with any such payment based upon company, line of business and/or individual performance.
