Job summary

Anna Jaques Hospital is seeking a Hospice RN to join the growing BILH team and provide professional nursing care within the hospice program.

Under the Hospice House RN Manager, you will perform visits, deliver symptom management, educate families, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team while upholding HIPAA and patient-centered care.

A Massachusetts RN license and BLS certification are required, with 2+ years of RN experience in acute, rehab, or home care; hospice experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Massachusetts RN license required.
• American Heart Association BLS certification required.
• 2+ years of RN experience in an acute care, rehab or home care setting; 1+ year hospice experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing visits to patients as assigned by the Hospice RN Manager.
• Provide hospice nursing care to patients and families utilizing current principles of palliative care and symptom management.
• Observe, record, and report significant changes in the patient’s healthcare status to the MD and Hospice RN Manager.
• Participate in the health teaching required by the patient and family.
• Respect and support patient and family’s cultural beliefs and values, individual needs, health goals and treatment preferences.
• Effectively communicate with patients, caregivers, and members of the interdisciplinary healthcare team incorporating interpersonal and therapeutic communication skills.
• Attend regular IDT meetings.
• Practice confidentiality principles set by the agency and federal HIPAA guidelines.

What You’ll Do:

The Hospice RN performs professional nursing care, functions as a member of the hospice team and provides input into the assessment, planning, and evaluation of nursing services. Under the direction and supervision of the Hospice House RN Manager, the Hospice RN is accountable for the quality of nursing care he or she provides and assumes responsibility for the provision of nursing care in accordance with the established plan of care for assigned patients.

More Specifically:

• Perform nursing visits to patients as assigned by the Hospice RN Manager.
• Provide hospice nursing care to patients and families utilizing current principles of palliative care and symptom management.
• Observe, record, and report significant changes in the patient’s healthcare status to the MD and Hospice RN Manager.

What You’ll Need:

• An active valid Massachusetts RN license;
• An active American Health Association BLS certification;
• 2+ years of experience as an RN in an acute care, rehab or home care setting; 1+ year of hospice experience preferred.

Pay Range:

$78,604.50 USD - $112,500.00 USD

The pay range listed for this position is the annual base salary range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geographyof work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law.
