Job summary

Canfor in El Dorado, AR is seeking a Quality Control Technician to guard lumber quality and ensure products meet high standards before reaching customers. You will inspect, test, and document results, collaborating with production to resolve issues and drive improvements.

The role operates Monday–Friday, 6:00am–6:00pm as a full-time position at our El Dorado sawmill, with wage and bonus opportunities varying by position and shift.

Qualifications

• Previous quality control experience preferred in sawmill or wood products.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Training or certification in quality control is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to identify defects and quality issues.
• Ability to work in a physically demanding environment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough inspections of lumber and wood products to ensure they meet our quality standards.
• Perform various tests on products to check for defects, moisture content, and other quality indicators.
• Maintain detailed records of inspections, test results, and any quality issues detected.
• Ensure all products comply with industry standards and company specifications.
• Identify and report any quality issues and work with production staff to implement corrective actions.
• Recommend and assist in implementing process improvements to enhance product quality.
• Work closely with production staff, supervisors, and other team members to ensure quality standards are consistently met.
