Job summary

Woodgrain in Elkin, NC is seeking a Sawmill Production Associate to handle, flip, inspect, and sort lumber on a conveyor to meet quality standards. The role reports to the Sawmill Production Manager in a safety-focused environment.

Responsibilities include PPE usage, maintaining conveyors, and safe operation of equipment. You must lift up to 50 pounds and adhere to strict safety practices; a comprehensive benefits package is provided in addition to competitive hourly pay.

Qualifications

• PPE usage required in a production environment.
• Must be safety minded and able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Lock out/Tag out training is required.

Responsibilities

• Use PPE at all times and maintain safe work practices.
• Maintain feed chain conveyors to prevent jams and ensure continuous line operation.
• Handle, flip, inspect, and sort lumber on conveyors.
• Ensure chains and guards are in place to keep the area safe.
• Keep the work area clear of wood and debris.
• Occasionally operate a chain saw.
