Earle M. Jorgensen Company in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Saw Operator to safely set up and operate metal cutting saws to cut materials per work orders.

This role may work independently or as part of a team and requires strict adherence to safety and quality standards. The successful candidate will read work orders and blueprints, perform basic measurements, operate supporting crane equipment, and maintain a clean, organized workspace.

Qualifications

• Experience operating metal cutting saws or similar equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret work orders, blueprints, and measuring tools.
• Basic math and computer skills.
• Strong attention to detail and safety practices.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Physical ability to perform tasks associated with medium work.

Responsibilities

• Operate overhead and/or wall crane using remote controls.
• Secure appropriate rigging devices for lifting materials.
• Transport materials using crane or forklift.
• Perform safety inspections and complete applicable checklists.
• Set up and operate saws to cut materials per specifications; observe multiple saws as needed.
• Use hand tools to measure and verify material dimensions.
• Utilize computer systems for documentation, labeling, scanning, and printing.
• Use grinders and sanders to remove burrs and rough edges.
• Label and package products for shipping using appropriate materials and banding equipment.
• Perform maintenance tasks such as changing saw blades, propane tanks, and sideloader batteries.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment including sweeping shavings and clearing debris.
• Participate in safety, quality, and job training sessions.
