Job summary

UFP Industries, located in Bartow, FL, is seeking a Saw Operator I to support production on a single-blade saw. The role involves reading scheduling sheets and selecting the required material, with emphasis on quality and safety.

You will perform setups, feed material, and maintain a clean, safe work area. You will also help maintain production records and participate in safety and quality programs as part of daily duties.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of basic math is required.
• Minimum 3 months of experience using saws or similar equipment is preferred.
• High school diploma or GED is preferred but not required.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Ensures material meets quality specifications such as grade, size, and moisture content.
• Performs setups according to specifications.
• Feeds material according to specifications.
• Periodically checks equipment to ensure specifications are met.
• Offloads and stacks material following procedures; may label and band components if required.
• Maintains a safe, clean, and organized work area and ensures equipment is safe to operate.
• Completes pre-shift startup equipment inspection checklist and reports concerns.
• Maintains production records as required.
• Checks materials and finished products for compliance with standards.
• Performs duties per safety and quality procedures, rules, and standards, including LOTO as required.
• Performs preventive maintenance as specified.
• Participates in safety, CI, and other programs and meetings.
• Performs other duties as assigned
