Job summary

Atkore International Group Inc. is seeking a Saw Operator for the 3rd shift based in Harvey, IL. You will set up and operate Adige, Hem, band, and circular saws to cut tube, pipe and channels to required lengths under supervision.

The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of forklift experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment; lean manufacturing experience is a plus. Candidates must pass post-offer drug screening in our manufacturing facility.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years' experience driving a forklift in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Experience in lean manufacturing or business system-based company is a plus.
• Ability to pass the post offer employment process with drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance checks prior to operation.
• Check to make sure all machine guards/exhausts are operative and in place.
• Check raw material to ensure proper size, gauge, length, and finish.
• Set-up and operate saw for customer orders.
• Load/unload saws with forklifts.
• Must ensure that orders are cut per specifications on the order.
• Check quality of finished parts to meet specs and/or match the sample piece.
• Clean saws and surrounding areas.

Who we are looking for:

We are currently searching for an experienced saw operator (M-F, occasional Saturdays) to be based out of Harvey, IL approximately 30 miles south of Downtown Chicago. Reporting to the Manufacturing Supervisor, this person will be responsible for set-up and operation of Adige, Hem, band, and circular saws to cut tube, pipe and channels to required lengths.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years' experience driving a forklift and in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Experience in lean manufacturing or business system-based company is a plus.
