Job summary

PURPOSE OF POSITION

Cut and supply production floor with materials according to schedules/MOs and due dates.Produce defined quantity of parts and components according to company and customer specifications.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.

More specifically, the person will:

  • Read and interpret blueprints, planning sheets, sketches, layout, job order and related technical data for product specifications such as dimensions and tolerances, and tooling instructions such as dimensions to be cut, depth of cut, and determines control settings, material requirements, machining methods and sequence of operations.
  • Cut materials to correct length according to prints, schedules, and the company’s and customer specifications.
  • Assure proper materials are used according to company and customer specifications.
  • Verify raw material receipts and assist in maintaining inventory accuracy.
  • Work with purchasing on out-of-stock items to expedite delivery.
  • Perform routine and preventative maintenance including but not limited to checking oil, grease, and coolant
  • Perform extra assignments in other areas and related task assignments in the work area.
  • Continually participate in additional training related to the job.
  • Perform housekeeping in area including but not limited to sweeping, moping, and cleaning tools and machines.
  • Perform routine maintenance and cleaning
  • Communicate positively with supervisors, fellow workers, and other internal customers
QUALIFICATIONS

  • Commitment to safety procedures, security protocols, and wearing of proper PPE.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints and/or order specifications.
  • Demonstrate mechanical aptitude and ability to solve problems using training, experience and reasoning skills
  • Proficient use of math skills
  • Ability to accurately utilize measuring devices including but not limited to a tape measure, micrometer, caliper, and dial indicator.
  • Ability to produce material meeting company standards, and requiring little to no rework.
  • Knowledge of job, techniques, skills, equipment, procedures, materials, etc.
  • Willingness and cooperativeness with co-workers and supervisors; ability to accept constructive criticism.
EDUCATION – EXPERIENCE – COMPUTER SKILLS
  • High school diploma or a general education degree (GED); or
  • one to three months related experience and/or training; or
  • equivalent combination of education and experience.
TRAINING – CERTIFICATIONS – LICENSES
  • Following appropriate training, demonstrate the ability to attain and maintain a Forklift license
