Essential Functions:

The Saw Operator is responsible for setting up and operating saws to cut specified lengths in titanium, stainless, or other metal billets or parts. Ensures safety and quality protocols are followed and maintains the integrity of identification on each piece cut.

Responsibilities and Role:

1. Reads work orders to determine cutting requirements, dimensions, tolerances, and the type of blade to be used.
2. Relieves saw blade support and drive wheel tension, and adjusts tension as needed.
3. Sets controls for cutting speed, feed rate, and table angle.
4. Positions and secures workpieces on the cutting table.
5. Starts the saw and guides stock manually or via automatic feed.
6. Ensures proper airflow to clear metal cuttings.
7. Verifies that cuts conform to customer specifications.
8. Calculates and marks layout lines.
9. Cuts billets, products, and test samples for various applications.
10. Ensures identification marks are on each piece.
11. Inspects materials for defects.
12. Operates overhead bridge cranes, jib cranes, forklifts, and side loaders.
13. Communicates effectively with internal and external customers.
14. Adheres to safety and environmental regulations.
15. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED.
• 1-4 years of manufacturing quality experience.
• Legal authorization to work in the U.S.; no visa sponsorship.
• Subject to ITAR regulations, requiring U.S. person status.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in metals manufacturing.
• Experience operating vertical band saws.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team.
