Job summary

NTA Precision Axle is seeking a Saw Operator to support forging production by feeding raw materials that meet customer specs. You will unload and stage bar stock, set up and run the saw, and ensure proper documentation and scrap disposal.

The role requires forklift experience (training provided), mechanical aptitude, basic math, and strong emphasis on safety. Expect full-shift, hands-on work in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Must have High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience operating a forklift in a manufacturing environment (NTA will train and certify).
• Mechanical aptitude, knowledge of basic machine operations and controls, ability to troubleshoot processes and line equipment.
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic math skills and attention to details.
• Knowledge of safety practices.
• Skill in both verbal and written communication.
• Basic computer knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Unloads bar stock bundles from Bar Stock Rack by using either Crane or Forklift to Saw Hopper.
• Sets up and uses machine and PC interfaces to operate Bar Stock Rack and Cut Off Saw.
• Continuously manage the flow of cut billets out of the saw to floor storage.
• Dispose of scrap properly.
• Manually performs saw blade and brush change overs.
• Accurately completes quality, production and daily PM documents.
• This position requires a combination of standing and walking for an entire eight to twelve hour shift.
• 5S of area daily and follows all PPE rules and company policies.

Job Title: Saw Operator

Summary: Assists in the production of quality parts by providing raw materials to forging production that meet customer specifications.

Essential Job Functions

• Unloads bar stock bundles from Bar Stock Rack by using either Crane or Forklift to Saw Hopper. Manually break apart bundles and situate bars in Saw Hopper.
• Sets up and uses machine and PC interfaces to operate:
  • Bar Stock Rack (inventory PC & automation controls & remote)
  • Cut Off Saw (main PLC and each control panel)
• Continuously manage the flow of cut billets out of the saw to floor storage.
• Dispose of scrap properly.
• Manually performs saw blade and brush change overs.
• Accurately completes quality, production and daily PM documents.
• This position requires a combination of standing and walking for an entire eight to twelve hour shift.
• 5S of area daily and follows all PPE rules and company policies.

Compensation

Hourly Rate: $21.00/Hour. We offer a 2nd shift differential of $2.00 per hour.

The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job‑related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity. At NTA Precision Axle, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Bump‑cap, steel toe safety shoes, safety glasses and hearing protection are required in the Forging Department.
