Job summary

HOPE International is seeking a Savings Group Operations Advisor to strengthen LM&E and operational excellence across a multi-country network. You will lead program support, tool implementation, and project coordination while collaborating with field teams and regional directors.

Ideal candidates will have a bachelor’s degree in economics or business, 2+ years in international development, and strong data-analysis skills in Excel/R. Travel up to 75 nights/year is expected.

Qualifications

The savings group operations advisor serves as a key member of the savings group department, supporting the effective implementation and continuous improvement of savings group ministries across HOPE's global network. The role works alongside field teams to strengthen listening, monitoring, and evaluation (LM&E) implementation, operational excellence, support strategic initiatives, enhance program quality, and facilitate the adoption of tools, processes, and systems. Key areas of focus include operations support, field team accompaniment, LM&E, process improvement, and project management.

HOPE International implements savings group ministries by equipping and supporting a network of church denominations and missionally-aligned ministry organizations with a holistic, church-centered savings group ministry. The goal is for the church partner to own and operate the SG ministry in a way that is consistent with their church's structure and context. The savings group operations advisor will serve as a leader on the savings group operations team and will be responsible for program support, process implementation, and project coordination.

Responsibilities
  • Promote and contribute to the fulfillment of HOPE International’s mission and vision.
  • Savings Group Operations Support
  • Model servant‑leadership in the work environment, including with HOPE co‑workers and ministry stakeholders.
  • Contribute to a culture that models Biblical principles and incorporates an intentional and effective Christ‑centered witness in all savings group programs.
  • Provide support to HOPE’s regional directors, country directors, and field teams by supporting capacity building and onboarding of new staff members, as well as special projects.
  • Participate in regular savings group team meetings and planning/strategy sessions, carrying out assigned tasks and working to support field leadership for country‑specific and network‑wide initiatives.
  • Provide skilled project management and support for long and short‑term projects related to savings group operations team support and LM&E. Expectations include creating project schedules, maintaining deadlines, facilitating project check‑ins, managing communication with multiple stakeholders, and ultimately completing the project on time.
  • Participate as a key contributor to the specific goals set out in the project.
  • Listening, Monitoring & Evaluation
  • Assist in the development and refinement of monitoring indicators, tools, and data collection processes to strengthen measurement of program quality, group health, and Theory of Change key outcomes.
  • Track LM&E framework implementation progress and follow up on gaps with field leadership.
  • Support the implementation of consistent monitoring systems and surveys across savings group programs, working closely with field teams to promote accurate and timely data collection.
  • Contribute to the analysis and reporting of LM&E data by identifying trends and synthesizing findings to support data‑informed decision‑making and program improvements.
  • In collaboration with program LM&E leads and the assistant manager of SG LM&E, support the rollout and adoption of LM&E systems, tools, and surveys across assigned countries.
  • Monitor data quality and elevate risks to the supervisor and concerned program leaders.
  • Process and Tool Improvement
  • Support the development and maintenance of tools to support operational excellence. This could include updating tools, creating and implementing rollout processes, as well as training and coaching staff on the process.
  • Support updates to the curriculum using InDesign.
  • Lead the testing, refining, and updating of tools based on field feedback.
  • Field Team Support
  • Assist in the implementation of new monitoring process, equipping field teams to execute and own updated processes and tools.
  • Provide onboarding and troubleshooting support to field teams as it relates to quality and monitoring processes.
  • Train and equip field staff with the tools and skills required for implementation.
  • Other
  • Complete special projects as needed. Past examples include supporting lateral learning calls, collaborating on manager effectiveness survey, facilitating design workshops, participating in pilot working groups, etc.
  • Ongoing savings group program team support guided by the Assistant Manager of SG LM&E.
Qualifications
  • Personal confession of Christian faith and commitment to the mission and vision of HOPE International.
  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree in economics, business management, or equivalent, and 2+ years of professional experience in international development, business, cross‑cultural ministry, or related field.
  • Proven leadership abilities; significant experience with cross‑cultural collaboration, supporting global teams.
  • Experience with monitoring and evaluation (M&E), preferably in an international development context.
  • Experience with data analysis, preferably with R.
  • Expertise using MS Excel for reporting and ability to create tools and templates in Excel using formulas.
  • Project management and organizational skills, including effective time management and prioritization of competing demands and multiple deadlines. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail oriented, self‑starter with demonstrated ability to work independently and in collaboration with a team.
  • The ability to think critically, anticipate needs, and proactively improve processes.
  • Fluent in spoken and written English; preferred proficiency in French.
  • Willingness to travel up to 75 nights per year to the countries where HOPE operates.
