Job summary

Moody Gardens is seeking a part-time Line Cook in Galveston, TX to prepare food according to the Executive Chef's recipes and restaurant orders. You will work on the line, maintain sanitation, assist buffet prep, and ensure proper cooler temperatures and stock levels.

The position requires a High School diploma or equivalent, 5 years of related experience, and certification (TABC & Food Handlers) before starting.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• 5 years prior experience in similar position.
• Must obtain TABC & Food Handlers Certification prior to starting work.
• Ability to read, listen, and communicate in English.

Responsibilities

• Receive orders from servers and prepare following the executive chef's instructions.
• Maintain sanitation of the line per Health Department and Moody Gardens standards.
• Assist in buffet preparation and line operations.
• Check coolers at start/end of shift and ensure correct temperatures.
• Handle fresh seafood with care and keep items iced.
• Keep the line clean at all times; prep for next day.
• Monitor stock and alert chef when items run low.
