Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Software Engineer for Starshield to help build reliable in-space mesh networks and secure systems for access to space. You will own software from inception to rollout, running both on our ground system and on satellites, solving challenging problems with cross-disciplinary teams.

Qualifications include a Bachelor's in CS/engineering or 2+ years in software, strong C++ on Linux, and experience with Docker/Kubernetes and relational databases.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, math, or scientific discipline; OR 2+ years of professional software development experience in lieu of a degree.
• Development experience in C++ on a Linux platform.
• Production experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Solid fundamentals in computer architecture, networks, debugging, and software testing.

Responsibilities

• Developing systems to provide secure command and control capability of our satellites.
• Designing systems for rapidly distributing and executing software updates across all components of the network.
• Iterating on high-throughput networking systems across our ground network.
• Creating monitoring and observability tools to allow operators to fly satellites safely and securely.
• Designing development and testing tooling to accelerate teams across Starshield.
