Job summary

Astranis Space Technologies Corp. is seeking a highly skilled Hardware/Software Test Engineer to join our growing team in San Francisco. You will design software architecture to support vehicle integration and test operations, developing automated tests and telemetry software while validating flight components.

Collaborate across engineering disciplines, refine specifications, and contribute to recruitment as we scale our team. Strong hands-on hardware experience and coding skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelors in CS or EE or equivalent.
• 2–5+ years in embedded systems or hardware development/testing.
• 3+ years Python experience.
• 1+ year Linux and shell tools.
• 1+ year version control experience.
• Hands-on, fast-paced environment with design and development.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Engage in the design of high-level software architecture to support vehicle integration and test operations.
• Work with test instruments and write drivers for ground support equipment.
• Implement software for automated testing at component and integrated levels.
• Refine specifications from electrical engineers to validate critical flight components.
• Support all phases of development from proposal through successful test and flight.
• Implement ground control and telemetry software.
• Assist in recruiting, interviewing, and hiring additional teammates.
