Job summary

SES is seeking a Satellite Engineer to join an EU and US–based team providing engineering and operations support across the satellite lifecycle. You will analyze telemetry, develop procedures, and assist in launch readiness while collaborating with multiple engineering teams to ensure safe, efficient satellite performance.

The role requires 1–3 years of experience (new graduates welcome), a Master’s degree in a related field, and proficiency in MATLAB or Python.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of applicable professional experience in satellite engineering and/or operations desired, new graduates welcome.
• Master’s Degree or higher in Aerospace Engineering, Physics or similar with specialization in satellite dynamics and control, avionics, power or thermal subsystems is required.
• Proficiency with MATLAB and/or Python; additional Computer/Data Science knowledge is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Continuous surveillance and analysis of telemetry data to evaluate satellite health and performance.
• Develop and maintain operational procedures, tools, and processes to optimize satellite and service performance.
• Prepare for satellite launches, supporting mission design reviews and post-launch phases.
• Provide technical guidance to internal teams and satellite users regarding capabilities and operations.
• Support definition of satellite requirements for integration with ground control systems and test plans.
• On-call responsibilities with potential travel to satellite control centers.
