Job summary

SES Satellites in McLean, VA is seeking an Engineer for Satellite Platform Engineering to support the full lifecycle from procurement through launch and on-orbit operations. Qualifications

• 1 to 3 years applicable professional experience in satellite engineering and/or operations desired
• Master’s Degree or higher in Aerospace Engineering, Physics or similar discipline (required)
• Proficiency with MATLAB and/or Python programming language
• Fluency in English (other languages a plus)

Responsibilities

• Continuously surveil and analyze telemetry data to evaluate satellite health and performance.
• Provide engineering support for satellite requirement definitions and design analyses.
• Support definition of satellite requirements for integration with ground control systems and test plans.
• Assist in launch preparation and post-launch phases with mission design reviews.
• Develop and maintain operational procedures, tools, and automated processes for satellite performance.
• Advise internal teams and satellite users on capabilities and operations.
• Optimize satellite performance through engineering analysis and parameter tuning.
• Prepare on-orbit performance reports for customers and stakeholders.
• Attend on-call rotations to support operations outside normal hours and possibly travel to control centers.
