Job summary

Turion Space in Irvine, CA seeks a Satellite Guidance, Navigation, and Controls Engineer to lead GNC design and implementation for satellite missions. You will work with systems engineering and flight software on mission profiles and algorithms.

Responsibilities include developing GNC algorithms for RPO, simulations, and on-orbit validation, with collaboration across disciplines. A PhD/MS or BS with relevant experience is required; willingness to obtain security clearances may apply.

Qualifications

• PhD/MS with 1–2 years or BS with 2–4 years in control/orbital mechanics.
• Proficiency in C++, Python, or MATLAB for algorithms and simulations.
• In-depth GNC area: guidance, navigation, controls, or modeling & simulation.
• Senior familiarity with star trackers, sun sensors, GPS.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement advanced GNC algorithms for RPO missions.
• Run simulations, hardware-in-the-loop tests, and on-orbit validation.
• Analyze trajectories, perform orbit determination, and optimize performance.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to integrate GNC with other subsystems.
• Support on-orbit commissioning and the Droid.002 platform in LEO.
• Drive process improvements and share knowledge within the team.
