Job summary

Moog Advanced Programs West in Arvada, CO seeks a Satellite Flight Software Integration and Test Engineer to join the Space Vehicles team. You will write test plans, develop automated tests, and review requirements while interfacing with system engineers and software developers to integrate flight hardware and software.

The role requires experience with spacecraft flight software, CI/CD tools, and RTOS like VxWorks, plus strong programming in C/C++, Python, XML, and Linux shells.

Qualifications

  • B.S. in Electrical/Mechanical/Computer Engineering or Computer Science.
  • Minimum 3 years in Integration, Test or related experience.
  • Experience reviewing requirements and writing detailed test procedures.
  • Experience with test planning and execution.
  • Self-Starter with strong communication in a fast-paced team.
  • Access to US Export Controlled Information.

Responsibilities

  • Write test procedures and test plans.
  • Create scripts for test procedures and automated tests.
  • Review requirements and design documents.
  • Interface with System Engineers and Software Developers.
  • Install and configure Flight Hardware and Software.
  • Road map test schedules and innovations.

Job description

Moog Advanced Programs (AP) West, a business unit of Moog Space and Defense, is looking for a Satellite Flight Software Integration and Test Engineer to join our Space Vehicles team in Arvada, CO. Moog AP West specializes in passive and active vibration suppression/load alleviation products and services, spacecraft buses and sub-systems, spacecraft and payload structure and propulsive accommodations, and precision motion control.

The Space Vehicles team is rapidly growing and comprises a cross-disciplinary group of industry veterans and young talent alike. The focus is on the development of satellite buses, Orbital Maneuvering Vehicles (OMVs), space tugs, and more. The team is a tight-knit group of collaboration-oriented professionals that welcome others looking to work on multi-faceted, complex problems as a team.

The role includes the following: Write test procedures and test plans; Create scripts for test procedures and automated test; Review requirements and design documents; Interface with System Engineers and Software Developers; Installing and configuring Flight Hardware and Software; Road mapping test schedules and innovations; Mentoring the Integration and Test Team; Refining Processes.

The Arvada, CO location is nestled in the foothills of the front range, just west of Denver. The office is a 10-minute drive from downtown Golden and Downtown Arvada and is an easy commute from most of the Denver Metro area. Colorado offers year-round outdoor activities and is a melting pot of cultures.

Basic Qualifications
  • B.S. (4 year) in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or similar.
  • Minimum of 3 year of experience in Integration, Test or related experience.
  • Experience reviewing requirements and writing detailed test procedures.
  • Experience with test planning and execution.
  • Self-Starter, ability to work in a fast-paced team environment and can communicate effectively.
  • This position requires access to US Export Controlled Information
Preferred Experience / Qualifications
  • 4-10 years of experience in Integration, Test or related experience.
  • Experience with Spacecraft Flight Software development and design.
  • Experience verifying Flight Software.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools like Bamboo, Jenkins.
  • Experience with Spacecraft Flight Hardware and Software integration.
  • Experience writing automated tests.Experience with one of the following ground software programs: COSMOS, InControl, MAXGDS.
  • Experience with MAX Flight Software.
  • Experience using VxWorks, or other RTOS.
  • Experience in C/C++, Python3, XML and scripting language (Linux Shells).
  • Experience with the Agile development process.
  • Experience interacting with customer and managing customer needs.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.

Salary negotiations start at $90,000. Salary is based on education and experience.
