Astro Digital seeks an experienced Flight Software Engineer to design, implement, and maintain software that controls spacecraft operations on satellites. You will develop robust, multi-threaded C++ software for Linux in a mission-critical environment, collaborating across engineering teams.

The role supports hybrid work from Littleton, CO or San Jose, CA with on-site collaboration and remote flexibility. Requires 4+ years in spacecraft flight software, real-time systems, and Git proficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in software/engineering field.
• 4+ years of experience in spacecraft flight software development.
• Strong understanding of real-time, multi-threaded systems and hardware/software integration.
• Proficient with modern C++ (C++17 or later).
• Experience with spacecraft subsystems (ADCS, power, thermal, communications).
• Familiarity with Git and software development lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain flight software deployed on satellites for command/telemetry handling.
• Interface sensors and actuators for attitude determination and control; manage power and thermal.
• Support RF communications, propulsion, and payload operations.
• Collaborate to define software requirements and interfaces; implement robust, efficient C++ for multi-threaded Linux apps.
• Perform integration and testing with hardware-in-the-loop environments.
• Support mission operations and troubleshoot on-orbit anomalies; ensure compliance with mission requirements.
