Responsibilities

• Open and close the kitchen and set up for service.
• Prepare and serve breakfasts, lunches, dinners, and snacks daily.
• Create dishes for special occasions to satisfy residents and guests.
• Prepare healthful, nutritious meals and snacks.
• Maintain cleanliness of refrigerators, freezers, ovens, floors, and dishware.
• Ensure the kitchen meets state health and Newport Healthcare standards.
• Engage with residents to make mealtimes positive.
• Monitor programming schedules and coordinate with the kitchen team.
• Interact with parents and guests with a positive, welcoming attitude.
• Participate in baking or cooking groups to share ideas and skills.

What Makes You a Great Fit

• Food safety certificate through the state, county, or ServSafe preferred. It is required within 30 days of hire.
