Job summary
KBR’s SATCOM Terminal Systems Engineer role focuses on architecture, analysis, integration, and technical oversight of advanced satellite communications systems. You will be a junior to mid-level contributor on a systems engineering team responsible for ground-mobile, protected terminals on MILSATCOM systems, dealing with TRANSEC, AEHF access, and interface coordination.
Responsibilities include requirements allocations, design reviews support, Interface Control Documents, and testing activities
Qualifications
- Bachelor degree in Electrical/Systems/Computer Engineering or related field
- 5–7 years of systems engineering in defense communications or terminal integration programs
- Experience with DoD design reviews (PDR, CDR, TRR)
- Experience creating Interface Control Documents and system interface specs
- Experience with system integration and testing in lab/field environments
- Ability to present technical status to government audiences
- Familiarity with MIL-STD-499, EIA-632 and DOORS/JamaCradle
- Active DoD Secret clearance
Responsibilities
- Develop system requirements allocations and traceability for terminal hardware and software
- Support formal design reviews for hardware and software subsystems
- Prepare Interface Control Documents for host platform integration
- Analyze EHF waveform performance and channel margin under operational conditions
- Coordinate TRANSEC and cryptographic equipment interfaces
- Work with mechanical/antenna teams on integration constraints
- Plan system integration/test activities and create test procedures
- Review subcontractor technical deliverables for requirements gaps
- Prepare status reports and briefings for government program offices
- Track risks, issues, and actions within IMS updates
