Job summary

Booz Allen Hamilton is seeking a Satellite Communications Systems Security Engineer to help protect DoD communications infrastructure. You will implement RMF, STIGs, IAVM actions, and vulnerability remediation across Windows and Linux environments, with focus on ESS/ACAS/CMRS and secure DoD networks.

The role requires TS clearance, Security+ or equivalent cert, and a strong background in cybersecurity risk management for military-grade systems.

Qualifications

• 3+ years implementing, testing, and validating STIGs
• 3+ years executing IAVM actions including IAVA alerts, bulletins, and tasking orders
• 3+ years deploying and validating ESS, ACAS, and CMRS; developing remediation strategies and applying patches/upgrades
• 3+ years reviewing cybersecurity and engineering change requests for availability and compliance
• Knowledge of RMF and its application to networks/IT systems (Cisco routers, switches, AD, access control)
• Ability to manage users in Windows and Linux and administer VMs in VMware or HyperV
• Ability to accredit and secure DoD systems using RMF, perform IAVA analysis, document POA&M, and prepare security artifacts
• Top Secret clearance
• Security+ Certification
• Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, or Engineering

Responsibilities

• Develop relationships with other teams and communicate security complexities to senior management
• Implement infrastructure and cybersecurity controls, including enhanced detection and vulnerability capabilities
• Perform risk and vulnerability assessments in network, system, and application areas
• Leverage big data analytics to identify advanced threats
• Develop test strategies and validate STIG requirements for current or new systems
• Conduct periodic self-assessments to ensure STIG compliance
• Create STIG checklists for periodic self-assessments
• Perform IAVM activities and develop systematic responses to IAVA-related issues
• Respond to TOs and FRAGOs by remediating vulnerabilities
