Tutor Doctor is seeking a knowledgeable SAT Tutor to help high school students prepare for the SAT in-person in Carlsbad, CA. Flexible hours suit teachers, student teachers, or experienced tutors with strong SAT scores and a passion for helping students succeed.

Responsibilities include 1:1 SAT prep across all sections, teaching strategies, tracking progress, and communicating with families. After-school availability is required, typically 3–7pm.

Qualifications

• Strong command of SAT content across math, reading, and/or writing.
• Prior tutoring or teaching experience preferred.
• Reliable transportation for in-home sessions in Carlsbad, Oceanside, and surrounding areas.
• Professional, punctual, and dependable work habits.
• Minimum 3-month commitment.
• After-school availability (3–7pm).
• Bachelor's degree or current enrollment in an education-related program preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide personalized, 1:1 SAT prep tutoring for high school students
• Cover all sections of the SAT, including math, reading comprehension, and writing/grammar
• Teach test-taking strategies, pacing, and content review tailored to each student's needs
• Track progress through practice tests and adjust instruction based on results
• Build student confidence and reduce test anxiety heading into exam day
• Submit session reports and communicate progress with families and our office
