Job summary

Tutor Doctor North County San Diego is seeking a knowledgeable SAT Tutor to help high school students prepare for the SAT across math, reading, and writing/grammar. This is an in-person tutoring role with flexible hours, ideal for teachers, substitute teachers, or experienced tutors.

Responsibilities include 1:1 tutoring, covering all sections, teaching strategies, tracking progress with practice tests, and communicating with families.

Qualifications

• Strong command of SAT content across math, reading, and writing; SAT score or test prep experience is a plus.
• Prior tutoring or teaching experience preferred.
• Reliable transportation for in-home sessions in Carlsbad and surrounding areas.
• Minimum 3-month commitment.
• After-school availability (typically 3–7pm).
• Bachelor's degree or current enrollment in education-related program preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide personalized, 1:1 SAT prep tutoring for high school students.
• Cover all sections of the SAT, including math, reading comprehension, and writing/grammar.
• Teach test-taking strategies, pacing, and content review tailored to each student's needs.
• Track progress through practice tests and adjust instruction based on results.
• Build student confidence and reduce test anxiety heading into exam day.
• Submit session reports and communicate progress with families and our office.
