Job summary

Tata Consultancy Services is seeking an experienced SAP Vertex tax specialist to lead tax solution design and integration within SAP S/4HANA RTR, OTC, and PTP processes. The role emphasizes configuring tax determination, codes, and reporting structures across multiple jurisdictions.

You will collaborate with Finance and Tax stakeholders, support global rollouts across NA, EMEA, and APAC, and drive testing, cutover, and production support activities.

Qualifications

• Strong experience with SAP S/4HANA tax integration and Vertex O-Series / Vertex Cloud.
• Hands-on configuration in tax determination, procedures, codes, jurisdictions, reporting structures, and compliance processes.
• Knowledge of Sales & Use Tax, VAT/GST, tax exemptions, multi-jurisdiction tax determination, and global tax matrices.
• Experience supporting Vertex integration with SAP SD, MM, FI, BRIM, and MDG for OTC, P2P, intercompany, returns, and credit processing.
• Familiarity with RFC/API integrations, master data impacts on tax determination, and SAP tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead Vertex tax solution design and integration with SAP S/4HANA RTR, OTC, and PTP processes.
• Configure and support tax determination, procedures, codes, jurisdictions, and reporting structures.
• Design and support Vertex-SAP integrations across SD, MM, FI modules including OTC, P2P, intercompany and credit processing tax scenarios.
• Gather tax requirements from Finance and Tax stakeholders and ensure alignment with regulations.
• Develop test scenarios, support SIT/UAT/regression/integration testing, and validate tax calculations across jurisdictions.
• Prepare functional specs, configuration docs, operating procedures, tax rule matrices, and deployment activities.

Must Have Technical/Functional Skills

• Strong SAP S/4HANA and SAP ECC tax integration experience with Vertex O-Series / Vertex Cloud.
• Hands-on configuration experience in tax determination, tax procedures, tax codes, tax jurisdiction codes, tax reporting structures, and compliance processes.
• Functional understanding of Sales & Use Tax, VAT/GST, tax exemptions, multi-jurisdiction tax determination, and global tax matrices.
• Experience supporting Vertex integration with SAP SD, MM, FI, BRIM, and MDG modules for OTC, P2P, intercompany, returns, and credit processing scenarios.
• Knowledge of RFC/API integrations, master data impacts on tax determination, tax certificate management, Vertex Accelerator+, and SAP Plus Tools.

• Gather tax requirements from Finance and Tax stakeholders, analyze current and future state tax processes, and ensure alignment with federal, state, local, and international tax regulations.
• Develop test scenarios and scripts, support SIT, UAT, regression, and integration testing, and validate tax calculation accuracy across multiple jurisdictions.
• Prepare functional specifications, configuration documentation, operating procedures, tax rule matrices, and support cutover, deployment, hypercare, governance, change management, and production support activities.

• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to independently lead customer-facing workshops and discussions.
• Ability to collaborate with Finance, Tax, IT, and business stakeholders to translate tax requirements into scalable SAP Vertex solutions.
• Experience supporting global rollouts across NA, EMEA, and APAC regions with strong governance, documentation, and change management discipline.
• Strong troubleshooting, issue resolution, risk management, and production support capabilities for complex tax calculation and integration scenarios.
• Ability to support SAP S/4HANA greenfield implementation, deployment, cutover, and hypercare activities.

Salary Range : $150,000 to $160,000 Per Annum
